Monkey and Trip are the main characters in the game.

You play as Monkey (the muscle) and Trip (the brains), is played by the AI. Enslaved takes place 150 years in the future where wars have ravaged the world leaving only a handful of people left alive. The game starts with Monkey and Trip in a slaver ship. Monkey looks out of his cell to see Trip breaking free from her cell. Monkey forces his way out of his as well. They end up taking an escape pod together, Trip on the inside and Monkey on the outside, after messing up the ship together. When Monkey awakes he finds a slave band on his head reprogrammed by Trip. If trip dies – Monkey dies as well, or if Monkey strays too far from Trip – he will die. Teammates for better or worse.

“A strategic single-player adventure game, ENSLAVED™: Odyssey to the West packs a wallop of pulse-pounding combat, lavish eye candy with a stirring storyline. The gameplay and narrative seamlessly intertwine, forcing you to think on your feet while getting sucked into the complex alliance of characters.

At its core, ENSLAVED: Odyssey to the West is a cinematic road movie. It follows the unforgettable odyssey of Monkey and Trip, two polar opposites who must rely on each other to survive in a hostile world. Their journey is both physical and emotional, and they bring you along for the ride. Loosely based on the classic Chinese novel, Journey to the West, ENSLAVED: Odyssey to the West unfolds chapter by chapter, leaving you to wonder where freedom ends and loyalty begins.

A contextual combat system allows you to execute a variety of complex attacks on enemies ranging in size from human to 1000-foot Titans. Attack and defend with agile prowess using a combination of melee attacks, blocks, and intense takedowns. Use Monkey to overtake an enemy, steal its weapon, and either rip it apart systematically or destroy it in one satisfying final blow.”

Would I recommend Enslaved: Odyssey to the west? Yes. It looks like a fresh new game with a lot to offer.  It is vivid and full of color – almost cartoon like.

But most importantly you get to play a character who’s name is Monkey!

What more could you ask for?
