I was born in Upper Michigan and learned there, living on a small farm amidst a panorama of seasons, to appreciate all of the beauties of God's creation. It was there that I developed an interest in creative art and writing. As a retired R.N. I now find time to explore my creativity and share it with others. I hope that I can inspire others to become more aware of all the everyday gifts in nature that are all around us.

Please mark Saturday, November 4th, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on your calendar to come to our yearly church bazaar. I can tell you from personal experience, that it is a great experience. I usually am there with my artwork and paintings  and attendance is very good.  This year, it is bigger than ever, I have been informed.

They serve delicious homemade rolls and coffee in the morning and many folks come for that specialty before they begin the shopping or browsing.  The sale offers a large variety of handmade items and a fabulous bake sale.  There is also the Bethlehem garden where various plants are for sale. Also we have an antique display and many other unusual crafts in the Green Room.

Among the crafts that are displayed are beautiful hand knit sweaters by our very own Peg McCubbin, who donates her proceeds to the church.  We have jewelry, purses, floral displays, aprons, unique hats ,mittens and scarfs and so much more.  We are entertained with holiday music by Barb Yotter and her wonderful group of professionals who keep the spirit of the holidays alive with lively music and song.

There is also the silent auction for the lucky person who might win one of Vida Meland’s beautiful hand made quilts, which are simply exquisite. The picture at right is not her quilt but only a sample of  a handmade quilt. Every year Vida donates a quilt and shares her many talents. Ticket proceeds benefit the church as well as all  of the monies from the rented display spaces used by the crafters.

Lunch is served by the church ladies and usually has been sloppy joes, chips and bars, along with coffee. It is always very good. By the way, Center City Lutheran Church is the church which was used for the wedding scene in the movie, Grumpy Old Men. It is a beautiful old church and the highlight of Center City as it sets peacefully atop the hill overlooking the city and lake. You can’t miss it and we would love for you to share in our joyful day at the bazaar. Bring a friend. Blessings to all in this joyous season that we are entering.
